Information on Community-Based Services
On January 1, 2013, Kancare went into effect. The KanCare program is the State of Kansas' plan to transition Kansas Medicaid into an integrated care model. KanCare health plans are required to coordinate all of the care a consumer receives. Services may require pre-authorization by the KanCare health plans. Many of the details of the health plans are still being determined. Your CMHC, service providers and the
website are your best sources for evolving information.
